Convert military time on Kindle

The 24-hour clock, frequently referred to as military time counts the full 24 hours of the day continuously. So, if your Kindle is displaying time like 23:30 it’s showing you the Military Time. The 12-hour clock, on the other hand, divides the day into two periods of 12 hours each and is considered convenient to use. So, if your Kindle is displaying time in military format and you would like to switch to or convert military time into standard time, follow this guide. You can also change the time manually.

How to convert military time to standard time on Kindle Paperwhite

Firstly, let me tell you If you want to switch from military time to standard time on your Kindle, there’s no direct way to do it. However, an option that is closely tied to the language settings you select when you set up the Kindle allows you to change it. That’s because some languages are set to use 12-hour time, and other languages are set to use 24-hour time.

For example, a Kindle Paperwhite that is configured to use the English language can use either English (United Kingdom) or English (United States). The former uses a 24-hour time format, while the latter sticks to a 12-hour time display convention. So, by setting the device to the corresponding language variation you can force your Kindle to use 12-hour time.

Tap the drop-down menu on your Kindle home screen to display the Quick Actions menu. Choose the All Settings option.

Is it better to use military time?

Many find Standard time convenient to use but it is easier to calculate the duration of time using Military time. How?  Consider this example where you need to calculate the hours between 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. It may seem challenging to get the duration. However, when the same is written in Military time like 10:30 and 15:30, you’ll quickly understand that the time gap is of is five hours.

That’s all there is to it!
