The constant bleeping sound alerts coming out of your Facebook app shouldn’t bother you if you change your status updates more often than reacting to someone’s 3D photos or wishing them on their birthdays. Even if it does, there’s a way to silence them. Read along to find out how to turn off Facebook In-App sound.
How to turn off Facebook In-App sound through the app settings
Turning off Facebook in-app sound does not stop videos from playing loudly as and when you come across them in your feed. For that, you’ll need to toggle off the ‘Videos in Feed start with sound’ option. We’ll cover both processes in detail below.
Launch the Facebook app on your mobile. Tap the profile icon visible in the lower-right corner of the app screen. Hit the drop-down button next to the Settings & Privacy option to select Settings.
When directed to a new screen, tap the Profile settings option.
To manage sound controls, photo, video and other options, scroll down to the Media and contacts heading. Tap the Sounds icon to expand its menu. It lets you manage your preferences for in-app and video sound.
To disable the Facebook In-App sound, simply slide the toggle next to the In-app sound option to the off position.
Similarly, to turn off the stop videos from playing loudly when you come across them in your feed, toggle off the Videos in Feed start with sound option.
So, the next time you hear a sound when you refresh your feed or get an alert beep without you requesting or wanting it to happen, change the default status of in-app sound settings to get rid of the annoyance.
Hope it helps!
