Download Instagram Reels

With so many tools to choose from and create viral content online, I find Instagram Reels the best bet. It now extends for a longer duration and packs far more editing tools than it did before. You can make them more likely to be discovered by downloading them on your device. If this idea excites you, I’ll show you how to make Instagram Reels video download in the gallery directly.

How to make Instagram Reels video download in the gallery directly?

Previously to download Instagram Reels we had to rely on third-party solutions. Fortunately, that’s no more the case as Meta now gives Instagram users a way to sidestep this limitation to download Reels. There’s just a minor annoyance you must bear with – every reel you download directly from the Instagram app is stamped with a watermark, bearing the creator’s name and the name of the background music or audio.

Launch the Instagram app on your iPhone. Tap your profile picture at the bottom of the app screen. Tap the Reels option visible as a clapperboard icon.

Load the reel you want to download by tapping it. You’ll arrive at your Reels screen, something like I’ve shown below. Hit the Send icon seen as a paper plane icon on the right-hand side.

A list of options should populate at the bottom of the screen. Swipe left to make the Download option visible. Tap it to directly save the reel to your Camera Roll.

So why save them for viewing later, when you can download it to your device without trying any workarounds.

Takeaway

In my testing i discovered, Instagram had strip the audio from the background since it was a licensed music. Upon another attempt, it saved the reel with background music, meaning reel will only come with music if they’re scored with original tracks and the original audio is downloadable.

Instagram sends out a friendly reminder that downloaded reels are off-limits for commercial use, and the download privilege is tied directly to your account’s privacy settings. For example, if your account is set to Public, anyone in the Instagram realm can grab your reels for sharing – unless you tweak those download settings. Conversely, you lock down your reel fortress by switching to Instagram Private mode, stopping everyone from downloading its video content. You have the option though to make the content shareable again by flipping the privacy switch to Public. Privacy, after all, is the true influencer here!
