Instagram Story is a slideshow feature that lets users add animation to photos, videos, or Gifs and caption them so that the entire content arrangement unfolds in a story-like format. How to hide Story on Instagram from others
Your Instagram Story can either include static photos or videos and when created, appears as a slideshow under the bar at the top of your Instagram feed. You can pick who can see your Stories. Similarly, you can choose to hide it, if required. These stories however have a finite lifespan and expire automatically after a lapse of a 24-hour period.
Launch the Instagram app on your iPhone and go to your profile. Tap Menu (visible as 3 horizontal bars) and from the list of options displayed therein, choose Settings. Then, under Settings, expand the Privacy entry.
Locate the Story option under the Privacy screen. When found tap to open it.
Just under the Viewing section of Story, expand the Hide Story from option by tapping the side-arrow next to it.
Choose the number of people you would like to hide your story from. Just check the circle marked against your Instagram followers and hit the the Done button, when finished.
If I hide someone from seeing my story on Instagram, can they see the Highlights on my profile?
That’s highly unlikely! However, they will still have permission to view your profile.

Your Instagram account privacy settings affect who can see your story. So, if your account is set to Private, only your approved followers can see your story. If your account is set to Public, your story will be visible to all your followers via Feed.

If I hide my story on Instagram will the person know?
No! The person won’t come to know about it. He just won’t be able to see your Story appearing on your profile page or in Explore.
